Copying Leonardo's work has been part of my training, being an excellent learning tool, it has become a passion and it will be a lifelong learning curve.
I do modern portraits using the renaissance approach. Capturing the essence of somebody through their face is a beautiful and most definitely magical challenge.
I am married with two sons and a daughter. I worked 25 years in the scientific field and took early retirement for health reasons in 2007. Since then I have worked as a freelance translator.
When I was 17, I studied portrait with one of the most respected portrait artists in Chile (Leonor De Amesti), she trained in the classical school and her inspiration was Leonardo, so that is how I became fascinated by his work.
Two years ago I decided to re-visit my portrait painting ability and became totally absorbed by it.
