Heather Wharam

My work is varied and depends on the project or theme I am involved with. Drawing is a fundamental aspect and underpins how I start. Having trained first in Fashion and Textiles and then Fine Art my work uses a mixture of materials often found or manipulated in some way. I am interested in surface and texture as well as layering and transparency. Stitching and text are important elements and the sewing machine is used both to draw with and embellish.
