by James Chen-Wishart

James Chen-Wishart was born in New-Zealand of mixed P?keh? (European New Zealander) and
Taiwanese descent, his painting style is influenced by traditional Eastern and modernist Western
painting methods. He moved to Oxford with his family in 1990 and studied Art Practice at Goldsmiths

His work is currently focused on combining Art with Ethics and developing a theory for art as a resource, one
that doesn’t simply describe current trends but can be used as an effective tool for change.
