About Pink House Arts

Caroline is a designer maker of contemporary textiles and mixed media art.  Inspired by colour, texture and pattern she specialises in the traditional skills of wet felt making working with gorgeous soft merino wool and tussah silk blends.

Caroline's three-dimensional hand felted vessels are both decorative and functional and can be used as trinket bowls  to hold a variety of items including jewellery, wrapped sweets, keys.  Large bowls can also be used to store fruit and eggs in the kitchen.

Caroline’s delicate translucent hand made silk fibre forms are made from silk hankies and tussah silks in a range of colours.   Shaped and styled by hand the organic contours create movement and have light reflective qualities. To enhance the translucency and to add functionality to the designs Caroline has a produced a range of silk fibre tea light holders.  The use of a battery operated LED light is a safe alternative to more traditional naked flame candles.

Caroline’s mixed media work explores her passion for hand sewing onto a variety of different weights of paper and embellishing the designs with jewels and found objects.  Further mixed media designs incorporate hand marbled papers, hand sewing, weaving and machine stitching.

Caroline is an experienced crafts tutor and art in health practitioner hosting creative workshops and projects in educational and healthcare settings and from her studio. She regularly exhibits her work both locally and regionally.
