The medium i use is gouache paint and wax crayons on paper. My subjects are all sourced from nature,trees,flowers,butterflies and shells. My work is quite abstract and heavily influenced by my printed textiles background. I begin with a line drawing, to which i add texture by taking rubbings with wax crayon, the wax crayon then acts as a resist to a paint wash, then i finish with opaque blocks of gouache. The most important parts of my work are pattern, texture and colour. I don't plan my work except the line drawing, the colour comes from my moods and emotions while painting.
